I m out of state and visit St. Louis. My normal trip would be visit Vietnamese grocery in town and see how nice it s. I love snacks and street foods so I always looking for those when I go grocery. This one is beyond my expectations. I saw there were lot of snacks and street foods there which is a good sign. Another good sign was lot of viet ladies shop there. It means foods and grocery must be good. Then I bought a bunch of street foods. It was not disappointed. Normally, I don’t expect much for premade foods at grocery store but this one is beyond. Foods are not only good with reasonable price but also, authentic tastes. Yes, authentic Vietnamese taste. It s like home cook food quality. Some of the things I tried were egg rolls, thit kho, and bánh đúc. All are amazing. Egg rolls stuffs with lot of pork meat which is Vietnamese style. It s remind me of Vietnam. I would come there weekly to buy foods take home to eat instead of cooking myself if I live in the area. Definitely, highly recommend if you come to the area and crave for Viet foods.
Came here looking for seafood for a boil. Of the multiple markets I went to, this one had the best crawfish by far. They had a ton of them and most were still alive. All survived a few hours at home before we boiled them. Met a very friendly staffer while confused on how to even start picking the crawfish. He pointed out the bags and then stirred them up so I could more easily identify the live ones. He then walked me over to the mussels, which was also exceptionally helpful. They only had frozen, but all other marts had frozen or simply deal "fresh" mussels. Will be back to explore in the future. Highly recommend trying here if you are in the city before making the trek out to the better know shops in U-city.
We live a half block from this establishment and unfortunately had never gone in. I needed celery for a soup I was making and decided we'd walk up there and see what they had. I was not expecting what I experienced. Their fresh produce and meats/seafood selection puts large chain grocers to shame. They have everything you'd expect from an international grocer, plus hundreds of things you may never seen before. I moved from the southernmost county of NJ to St. Louis 7 years ago. When my wife came to NJ the first time, I made her a fresh seafood platter, but I didn't bother with blue claw crabs... and I've been lamenting it since. Wouldn't you know it, they had a table of "pick your own" live blue claws not a thousand feet from our home. (The seafood employee said they come in on Saturdays and they also get live crayfish) They have live fishes, fishes on ice, (snapper, striper, tilapia, flounder, etc) shellfish (oysters, clams, dungeness crabs, etc.) Even an on site kitchen/restaurant. Now that I know, I will be returning... Often.
Excellent market with a wide selection of products and a very friendly, helpful staff. The pharmacy is efficient and well managed, making the entire experience convenient and stress-free. Highly recommend.
